Patrons of Bucklin Public Library:
The library board of directors would like to provide an update to the public and attendees of the informational forums regarding the potential transition from Bucklin Public Library to district library status. We truly appreciate those who took the time to attend the information meetings, as well as the questions that were brought to the table.
After a great deal of consideration of the questions raised, the board feels the best course of action is to place plans to seek petitioning and election for district library status on hold. The board believes more time and due diligence is needed before asking the public to make any decisions or cast ballots on the matter.
On projects of this magnitude, various points of view are not only helpful, but absolutely necessary. The public’s feedback was incredibly beneficial in raising additional questions the board must research prior to moving forward. Please know that while district library status is not being sought immediately, the board will continue to consider the possibility.
